The Challenge

Create a branding package, website and app for a pickleball coaching platform aimed toward athletes who are serious about taking their abilities to the next level.

The Process

The team wanted a logo that felt athletic and clean while making their brand name stand out. Because the name was so long, I shortened it to EPC to create a more recognizable and versatile wordmark. However, I felt a wordmark alone wasn’t enough for this project and that it needed an additional element that represented the sport of pickleball. I explored a variety of pickleball-inspired concepts, both literal and abstract, to find a direction that best fit the team’s style and identity.

Final Design

We landed on a bold, clean and direct design that showcases a pickleball and the company name.

The badge creates an immediate connection to the sport, while the streamlined typography keeps the brand recognizable, modern, and versatile.

Colors & Typography

The color palette and type were built to reflect what you'll see and feel at a professional pickleball tournament. The bright green color of a pickleball pairs well with the blue of the court. The colors were picked purposefully to match the environment and feel clean and professional. The type was picked to fit the style of the logo lettering while remaining highly legible.

App Screens

The app was designed in Figma, where I built a design system around the brand’s style guide. Having both systems in place helped me work more efficiently, keep the app consistent, and make adjustments as the project evolved.

As the sole designer on the project, I handled everything from UI and UX design to creating the visual assets and communicating directly with the developers. I worked closely with them on a daily basis to answer questions, clarify design decisions, and make sure the app was being built as intended.

Subscription Tiers

I wanted the four membership tiers to feel distinct while maintaining a consistent visual identity. Signature and Pro were designed to feel more premium, reflecting the personalized coaching and added value that come with those memberships. Academy and Training Plan were kept clean and approachable, making it easy for athletes to compare their options and find the right fit.

Website Screens

My main goal was to make the desktop experience feel like a true dashboard rather than a traditional website. I focused on keeping everything accessible through one-click navigation, with key features and information visible upfront instead of hidden behind menus or multiple pages. I also wanted the desktop experience to feel like a natural extension of the mobile app, sharing the same visual identity while making the most of the larger screen.

Splash Site

The goal of the EPC website was to introduce potential members to the brand, showcase the value of the program, and encourage them to sign up. I storyboarded a splash video for the homepage and worked closely with the EPC team and a video editor to bring it to life. The video highlights the app’s features while giving visitors a feel for what it’s like to be an EPC athlete. I also focused on communicating what sets EPC apart and creating dedicated space for the coaches, highlighting their professional playing experience and accomplishments on the pro tour to build trust with potential members.

Additional Art

I wanted to make sure the EPC brand felt cohesive across both digital and physical spaces. I explored how the colors, typography, and visual elements translated across a variety of applications. Using the identity we created in different real-world contexts helped me refine the details, ensure consistency across every touchpoint, and bring the project together as a complete brand experience.
